The command squad consists of one person who will take on the role of people management. Apart from Command, each squad gets a unit leader and subordinates that need to fit into roles (sniper, spotter, riflemen, engineer etc). In ancient Greece, the nightingale was seen as a messenger of the gods who brought messages from humans to deities. Nightingale’s spiritual meaning in Greek culture As their appearance often represents how our passions for life matter deeply to ourselves and those we care about, here’s how the various cultures see them in ancient times. ![]() The nightingale symbolism has been a symbol of peace and tranquility in many cultures around the world. Thow you are singing somewhere still I can no longer hear you.” – Leonard Cohen The symbolic meaning of the nightingale in different cultures “Fare thee well my nightingale, I lived but to be near you. So it turns out that these little birds may be small but they’re mighty in ways you might never expect! They sing beautifully without fail every single day so we know they will always bring beauty into our lives by filling them with harmony, serenity, and joy. The appearance of these chirpy creatures encourages us to bounce back from life’s countless ups and downs. The soothing qualities in the bird’s song have even helped those with dementia improve their moods when they were having difficulty sleeping at night due to anxiety-related nightmares. The nightingale’s song has been shown to reduce levels of stress hormones for victims of trauma, helping people heal more quickly after a traumatic experience. Some people believe that seeing this bird as it sings in the dark while most of its peers are asleep indicates how the human spirit is capable of perseverance and ambition. Typically heard belting their motivational songs only at night, nightingales are also believed to represent wisdom because they teach their young how such a wonderful gift can be utilized. The bird’s succession of effortless high notes is evocative because it’s reminiscent of unconditional feelings that seem unattainable at times but, with perseverance, can be realized. It’s also been an important part of the work of poets like William Shakespeare, who used it to express lifelong and selfless adoration for someone else. Observed to use their distinct whistles and calls to land a date with a potential mate, the nightingale symbolism has been widely recognized as a symbol of love. Inspiration can come from the most unexpected people and places. Additionally, it would help if you are observant of the environment around you. If you have this animal as your spirit animal or in your totem, you’re most likely someone who has been blessed with creativity. Revered by the creative types, it was believed that seeing a nightingale meant that something positive was coming your way regarding your craft – whether it was poetry, music, or art. Melodiously chirping spontaneous songs even on the darkest nights, these naturally shy creatures swoop down to awaken our creative side. This helps boost our self-esteem and develop stable relationships. Performing their nocturnal song to simply find and connect with other members of their species, they remind us about the importance of expressing ourselves. Nightingales are most known for their delicate nature paired with their unforgettable melodies. Since most people see an element of wonder and surprise as exciting and profound, keeping everyone guessing only means that your spirituality is sturdy and sound. Since nightingales are more active from dusk until dawn, they tell us about the importance of keeping things to our own. Here’s what the presence of these intuitive birds means. Known for their short life spans and extraordinarily fast heartbeats, the legacy of the nightingale is one of beauty, communication, and death.Ī delicate creature with an incredible voice that is symbolic of the human spirit. “It is modest of the nightingale not to require anyone to listen to it, but it is also proud of the nightingale not to care whether anyone listens to it or not.” Soren Kierkegaard What does the nightingale symbolize?Ĭommon nightingales, scientifically called Luscinia megarhynchos, are migratory birds that are found in Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, Asia, and Northwest Africa. So, you’ve probably guessed it by now that all Portuguese Podengo dogs have a strong prey drive and are certainly not very welcome in the proximity of cats and other small pets. Another good thing about these dogs is that they excel in vermin control. These dogs often hunt in packs followed by the hunters (in the past, Podengo de Mostra was a Portuguese term for pack-hunting dogs, which was later shortened to Podengo), but they can as well hunt on their own. They are fast and agile, they have keen senses of sight, smell and hearing, and besides, they are resourceful, hardy, persistent, and brave. Even though they are different in size, Podengos share many common traits when it comes to hunting. The Portuguese Podengo dogs are in the first place excellent hunter companions. On top of that, Warren Hounds are very curious dogs, eager to explore their surroundings, so they won’t hesitate to jump over a fence or wall (if they can) and check what’s going on in the neighborhood. You see, Podengos can jump incredibly high, which is in connection with their hunting habits – they jump from above on their prey. ![]() With “proper”, I mean at least 6 feet high. Yeah, these dogs like to dig a lot! So, if you have a garden, it would be wise to put a proper fence around it. Bored Podengo can do all sorts of bad things, from annoying barking to obsessive digging. Otherwise, your dog might become bored, which in other words means trouble. So, play some games with him or take him for a long walk in nature or some park. Daily exercise is necessary in order to keep your dog nice and calm. The Portuguese Podengos are generally healthy dogs with small chance of suffering from some genetic diseases or defects. Main Portuguese Podengo dogs characteristics are intelligence, agility, speed, boldness, loyalty, playfulness, cheerfulness, alertness, resourcefulness, independence, curiosity, and endurance. You will have to correct your dog on this as soon as possible. Unfortunately, Podengos tend to bark at everything they feel odd, so it’s understandable they’re prone to excessive barking, which can be quite annoying. They will bark like mad whenever somebody comes near the owner’s property, but won’t confront the stranger nor act aggressively. These hounds make good watchdogs since they’re very alert and suspicious toward strangers. It is no wonder they are very good with children, especially, if they’re raised together. They like to play a lot and can be quite funny and crazy when happy. You should never ignore your Podengo and keep him tied somewhere alone since this can have bad effects on his mental health. Podengos enjoy company and will do anything to keep your attention. The Portuguese Podengo dogs are known as lively, cheerful and loyal family companions.

The room crammed with these pieces stands in sharp contrast to the starkness of the rest of his home and is a lovely spot of production design work from Ina Timmerberg. Von Hüning has amassed an enormous collection of curiosities in the wake of the disappearance of his daughter including a talking parrot that, of course, offers its own little echo. While there is mirroring between the sudden reappearance of a long-forgotten bomb and the discovery of a missing child, Wegener struggles to stitch them into a seamless narrative as her philosophical argument about the long reach of memory even when people are trying to forget begins to overwhelm everything else. Just when the police procedural element of the film is getting going, the discovery of an unexploded Second World War bomb in von Hüning’s manor moat leads Wegener’s film to strike off at an odd but determined tangent. She quickly discovers the body is that of a girl, leaving her with two main potential identities, one of whom is the missing daughter of local landowner Lorenz von Hüning (Felix Römer), who owns the moor. ![]() ![]() The initial broody atmosphere, reinforced by the boxy academy ratio framing and bold scoring from Thom Kubli, who lets his big brass skirmish with the woodwind in the manner that recalls 1960s cop thrillers, holds plenty of intrigue as Harder begins her enquiries. With low-stress work advised, she’s posted to the apparently sleepy town of Friedland where a mysterious mummified body has been found on a peat moor. Back in Germany a doctor signs off on Harder’s return to the force but, as a character soon notes, “you can’t see into other people’s heads”, and those Pink Panther-hued clouds will become a repeated motif for her PTSD, appearing at key moments throughout Echo. We see the origins of Detective Superintendent Saskia Harder’s (Valery Tscheplanowa) personal trauma unfold onscreen, as a deadly explosion during a training session in Afghanistan kills comrades and fills the air with a surreal hot pink fog from smoke bombs. Its inclusion in the Perspektive Deutsches Kino section of Berlin Film Festival does signify that it’s most likely to strike a chord on home turf, however. Wegener, whose previous films were documentaries, moves into fiction with a challenging, offbeat style that could find a foothold at other festivals, particularly those with an emphasis on genre. It’s most likely to strike a chord on home turf There’s no lack of ambition in German director Mareike Wegener’s fiction feature debut Echo, which lets themes of personal and collective memory and trauma reverberate within a mystery framework, further embellished by fantastical elements and dry humour - although her desire to tackle big philosophical ideas, encompassing everything from Ovid to World War II, does take its toll on the underlying story. ![]() But if you are visiting New York City and awesome views are desired, and it all seems so endlessly expensive, then consider these alternate choices, particularly the Brooklyn Promenade and Staten Island Ferry, which will be fun adventures, promise some awesome Manhattan views, and won't hurt your pocket even a tiny little bit.
